Bloom group gets a boost from the Co-op

June Bush and Gill Brown from the Thorpe Acre Residents’ Association, along with Graham Knight from the Thorpe Acre Scout Group have been presented with a £500 cheque from the Co-Op Community Fund.

The money will be used on materials for a fourth raised flower planter on the corner of Kenilworth Avenue and Knightthorpe Road in Loughborough.

The group collects the cheque at Co-Op, Glenfield

June Bush, chairperson of the Residents’ Association said: “This planter is larger than those already on Thorpe Acre Green.

“A number of residences on Kenilworth Avenue have agreed to look after the planter.

“After paying for the material to build the box, there will be enough left over so we can help residents buy more compost to top up the box and to buy good quality plants to start the box off with.

“Our thanks go to the Co-Op and also to Graham Knight who nominated the group.”
